经司法鉴定，此玉器为一级国宝。制作于八千多年前远古人们没有审美观念、制玉工艺低下时期。玉料是极品辽宁老玉，杂质极少，透光度良好。长7.3厘米，重93.4克。 形状像葵瓜子，打磨成一面外弧，一面略内弧，外弧凸形偏一侧，宽侧磨制大小两条凹槽，边缘及两条凹槽中线隆脊条形钙化，窄侧轻微隆起，内弧面局部钙化锈蚀斑，对应外弧的条形钙化清晰。顶部是打制原形，刃口锋利，两侧厚度不等，薄侧小绺铁锈沁，厚侧刃处轻微缺损，使用痕迹明显。器形由打击、打磨结合的方式制作而成，整体不对称，不规整，表面多处磨痕，不平滑，散布黑色沁斑点，沁色自然，包浆浑厚。
这件玉器是到目前为止发现的年代最久远的第一件艺术品和实用过的工具，是研究东北亚玉文化起源及五千多年中华文明起源的珍贵史料。是集历史价值、研究价值、收藏价值和无限增值空间的绝世珍宝。
According to judicial appraisal, this jade is a national treasure. It was made more than 8000 years ago when people in ancient times had no aesthetic concept and jade making technology was low. The jade material is the best Liaoning old jade with few impurities and good transmittance. It is 7.3 cm in length and 93.4 g in weight. It is shaped like sunflower seeds. It is ground into an outer arc and a slightly inner arc on one side. The outer arc is convex on one side and slightly on the other side. Two large and small grooves are ground on the wide side. The edge and the middle line of the two grooves are ridged with strip-shaped calcification, and the narrow side is slightly uplifted. The local calcification and rust spots on the inner arc surface are localized, and the strip-shaped calcification of the corresponding outer arc is clear. The top is the original shape, sharp edge, different thickness on both sides, small grain rust on the thin side, slight defect on the thick side, and obvious use trace. The shape of the instrument is made by combining striking and grinding. The overall shape is asymmetric and irregular. There are many grinding marks on the surface, which are not smooth. The black spots are scattered. The color is natural and the coating is thick.
This jade is the oldest and first work of art and a practical tool discovered so far. It is a precious historical material for studying the origin of jade culture in Northeast Asia and the origin of Chinese civilization for more than 5000 years.
